Die gemeinnützige Stiftung Stephansstift plant zwischen der Karl-Wiechert Allee, der Anna-von-Borries- und der Kirchröder Straße ein inklusives und klimaneutrales Stadtquartier. In das 4,3 Hektar große „Grüne Viertel Stephansstift“ werden rund 186 Millionen Euro investiert. Das neue Quartier mit seinen mehr als 300 Wohnungen soll es insbesondere den Menschen ermöglichen, einen passenden Wohnraum zu finden, die es auf dem Wohnungsmarkt schwer haben: Familien, Auszubildende und Studierende, Menschen mit Pflege- und Betreuungsbedarf sowie sozial benachteiligte Bürger:innen. Im Quartier wird es darüber hinaus einen Nahversorger sowie ein Pflegezentrum mit Arzt- und Therapiepraxen geben. Auch eine Mensa für die allgemeine Essensversorgung ist auf dem Campus geplant. Weitere soziale Einrichtungen, eine Bildungseinrichtung, Spielplätze, ein Verwaltungsgebäude und ein Parkhaus vervollständigen das Angebot. Die gemeinnützige Stiftung Stephansstift ist Teil der Dachstiftung-Diakonie Gruppe und setzt daher auf eine wirkungsorientierte und wertebasierte Quartiersentwicklung.

The non-profit foundation Stephansstift is planning an inclusive, climate-neutral urban quarter between Karl Wiechert Allee, Anna von Borries Strasse and Kirchröder Strasse. Around 186 million Euro are being invested in the “Green Quarter Stephansstift” covering 4.3 hectares. With more than 300 homes, the new quarter aims to provide accommodation particularly for those people who struggle on the housing market: families, apprentices and students, those in need of care and assistance and socially deprived people.
Furthermore, the quarter will also have a supermarket as well as a healthcare centre with medical and therapy practices. A refectory is also planned to provide meals on the campus. The range of services will be supplemented by other social facilities, a training centre, playgrounds, an administration building and a car park.
The non-profit foundation Stephansstift is part of the Dachstiftung Diakonie Group and advocates an impact-oriented, values-based approach to developing the urban quarter.
